Service Location Manager

Position Specifics:

Department: Service

Reports to: Corporate Service Manager

Supervises: Service Administrator, Shop Foreman, Parts and Service Clerks, Service Technicians, and Truck Driver


Manages service operations within the dealership to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction. Grows profitable service labor sales and exercises disciplined expense control.


Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to employees in the Service Department according to their skills and knowledge

Assists with the development and implementation of training of service personnel and may complete performance reviews of service staff

Communicates, enforces, and monitors effective Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction

Monitors service sales on a monthly basis to ensure achievement of budgeted sales and profit goals

Manages defined metrics including but not limited to work in progress (WIP), product improvement program (PIP), and labor performance including daily productivity and attendance review

Participates in the development and execution of the Corporate Service Marketing Plan

Reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing

Ensures all departmental tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working order

Assists the Corporate Service Manager in developing, implementing and managing processes and procedures

Understands and ensures adherence to corporate and customer data policies

Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments

Performs other duties as assigned

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

3+ years experience in Service Department operations

Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions, and Lasseter business systems

Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups

Familiar with John Deere and competitive products, and other allied products

Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports

Ability to work extended hours and weekends, and willingness to be on-call 24/7

Excellent customer service skills

High School Diploma or equivalent experience
